Goodbye Tea@Kuriya, Raffles Link

Another goood bye tea before Dogma Left Singapore on his recent trip to Singapore.
Always the first to spot a good deal, Dogma brought me to this lil japanese restaurant at the basement of City Hall. Looks outrageously classy from the outside, Kuriya now sports a good value $6 dollars Tea session ( a combo of Dessert ranging from $8 - $10 plus a glass drink coffee/tea/sobatea).. Excellent for value, we were however dismayed that they increased the cost by about 60cents since 2 months ago...
a Typical sign of economics 101...

When demands goes up,, the price goes up as well!

We shared a plate of dessert combo plate, with green tea jelly + red bead paste, vanila icecream + mixed fruits...
The green tea jelly was a tad bland but dogma will swallow anything green with green tea.

to go along with teh dessert is a cup of hot coffeee.

PHEET PHEET<
A good value tea session at centre of town....
You just love Recession dont you!

Sun Biscuits Courtesy of Mike, from Taiwan!

We had this little sunny buggers courtesy of our good friend Mike from Taiwan....It was a real pleasure and blessing meeting him first at work then at Zion Church Singapore. Hope he is doing well in Taiwan now......

Some nice packaging by the Guru of Marketing in Taiwan. The wordings says 3 low 2 high, shoudl be some extra nutritional boost in the Sun Biscuits
putting the health conscious aside, the Sun biscuit was moist in the inside and fluffy flakes on the outside. Mildly sweet and milk.... mmm mmm mmm, Demona blot out the Suns within hours after receiving it from Mike. I managed only to have 2 pieces :(

German Kirsch Chocolates

Had this after church during the fellowship session. Some kind souls brought back bunch of this deliciously looking Kirsch Chocolate from Germany.

If any of you wonder what is Kirsch, let this wiki-note kills your curiosity cat!

Kirschwasser (pronounced /KIRSH-VAHS-ər/, German for “cherry water”) is a clear, colorless fruit brandy traditionally made from double distillation of morellos, a dark-colored cultivar of the sour cherry. However, the beverage is now being made from other kinds of cherries as well.

The cherries are fermented complete (i.e., along with their stones).[1]

Ok, let us now talk about the taste...
The taste.... hmmm is not great. HAHA
The yellowish thing taste like grated coconut starch, while the dark stuff are just dark chocolates (DUH!)...and it has a tinge of sweet liquor taste from the kirsch..

Overall, not something that Alcohol loving Dogma crave very much about nor was it sinfully exciting enough for chocoholic Demona to gobble down after church service.

Verdict: A good exposure for these 2 poor Malaysian, who never travelled to Germany (ok, Dogma spend a day at Cologne/Bohn before) on Kirsh Chocolate.

Double dates@Wala Wala, Holland Village

Demona: It was the Valentine's Day weekend, and the boys were totally broke, outta' idea, bored.. *yawns*. Aileen and I crossed our arms and shook our heads with disbelief.

Demona: "Hmm... Wala Wala then? Near home, can have some drinks and good music."
Dogma : "Sounds like a good plan!" (Cantik la.. 5 mins drive, CHEAP drinks, got ambience, skip LV,GC,Coach bags etc, skip extravagant dinners, skip chocolates, skip presents blablabla...."

Demona: Man.. ain't we ladies easily satisfied? Give us some chiccccc-ken wings, some potatooooooo-wedges and our mouths are full, our hearts are satisfied. No sophisticated losbter bisque, grilled lamb shank with rosemary mashed potatoes, light fluffy creamy coffee tirasimu, swirling over riedel glasses of bordeoux wines.

Demon: Warfiener, the taste didn't leave much impression. Pale coloured like beer, kinda' reminded us of Anchor beer. *yawns*

Demona: Konig! ME favourite-tieeeee! I've developed the liking for it so much that this is the beer that I order everytime I'm here. Refereshing, with a hint of sweet and bitterness, this beer really gives you the *gulps* and ," Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....." at the end of it.

All in all. We shall give it a hand to the guys. Though they did not do much, it was still quite nice chilling out as double dates, overbloating ourselves with beer and junk food. Totally ain't sophisticated and romantic at all, but dang..raw deal like this is so much better. The night had been fun.

FULL ON FUN!

Except.....

when Dogma was enjoying getting pinched and touched by someone else... Grrrrr... (Dogma, you know who)

Nasi Ayam Penyet@Sanur Restaurant, Far East Plaza

One of the things that could make Demona YAY YAY YAY when she goes to Orchard is the opportunity to have some good old Nasi Ayam Penyet in Far East Plaza. I think this is the closest Singapore comes to compare with KL's Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng.. Demona has got the whole Indonesian Contigent in Singapore to thank for this blissful dish during her horrid time here.

The chicken was fried till crispy and filled with crumbs. Anything fried is a fatal attraction to Demona. Coupled with ultra spicy belacan. Instant heaven for her.

Next we ordered the fried pomfret in sweet indonesian sauce. Again, it was fried till crispy and the accompanying sauce was deadly spicy. We love it and we cleaned it to the bone. Ngarm ngarm ngarm.

Fossil Fish in the making.

Next to round up the meal is a oily stir fried eggplant dish. It was so so and slighly on the sweeter side...

Overall, the meal at Sanur Restaurant was a great relieve for sambal belacan lacking days in Singapore. Demona will miss this place.
