Rated 92 points in Winespectator, following are the reviews:
Angélus continues its hot streak. Super color and concentration for the vintage. Exotic aromas of berries, red fruits, toasted oak and minerals. Full-bodied, with full, silky tannins and a long minty, fruity finish. Fine for drinking now. Best after 1999. 10,000 cases made
After 2 hours of decanting, the wine was poured into our glass to go with the veal dish
Nose: A very intense nose of pencil shavings, some roughness at the edges of bitter cocoa and licorice. Tobacco and dark dark fruits.
Palate: Silky tannins but with noticable angular acid that needs further aging to reveal its true colours. Good mineral mouthfeel, more opulence than the Malescot. Long finish.
