Impromptu Wine Session@SH's Pad

Another impromptu wine session at SH's cozy pad with some left over wines from Le Vigne.
The wines were recorked and tasted 3 days after the event....

Domain De Chevalier Grand Cru Classes de Graves 2000@ 300SGD (Magnum)
Eye: lite pale golden
Nose: Slight buttery,hay. fresh
Palate: 3 days after being opened, it has lost some of the complex nose and body weight compared to the first day..Yet it still retained the pure, clean, mineral, slight buttery palate. Elegant. 3 of us gulp down 1 magnum within 90 minutes. This baby is delicious and easy drinking. Pleasant.
Ratings: 3.6-3.8/5 (good+)

Toro Albala, Montilla-Moriles/Andalusi, Spain, Pedro Ximenez Gran Reserva, 1971:
Eye:
Deep black purple
Nose:
intense chinese Medicinal
Palate:
Dancing on the palate on the first night we opened it. The wine has increased in viscosity and structure on the 3rd night. Herbal medicinal on the front supported by subtle raisin backbone. Still better than the Dow Vintage 1977 port.
Ratings:
3.7 on the 3rd night. (probably due to more scrutinizing/less intoxicated mind as well)

Some bites that we had together with the wines.
Fassler's Smoked Salmon with Herbs@14.99sgd
Pretty impressive and value for money. Smoked salmon marinated with herbs.
Friedrichs lumpfish caviar
Taken with some crackers. the caviar was not too impressive (or was it because i'd not really know much about it yet.) It was mildly salty and thats all. However, it was good to go with the wine we had that night as it did not overkill our taste bud.
