Char Siew Pau: Fluorescent Pau? Another Made in China QC issue? Fear not, the weird color is mainly due to my old Canon A70 going haywire. The colour aside, you could see chunky pieces of pork in the char siew, which demona gladly devoured it. Consistently good delivery from Kamboat.
btw Demona, we should have a CSP challenge on your next trip. Let us pit Kamboat, CJ, Imperial tresure, wah lok and lei garden CSP against each other!
Salted Fish Brinjal with minced meat: Highlight of the day. It is hard to make a dish from eggplant without making it extra oily as this buggers do soak up alot of oil. However, Kamboat did it right again with their handling of the eggplant. Crunchy fried salted fish, chili, garlic and minced meat cook in a claypot together with the eggplant resulting in a flavorsome dish.. Awesome!
The 3 Chilli Musketeers: These were wipe out by Demona the chilli Globber. I wonder how much of her taste bud left in her tongue after all these years of torment?
what is this? could remember the exact name of this. I guess it should be Fried prawn/mango wrapped in yam. It has a lite and fluffy crumbs and the prawn/mango oozes out tons of hot juices once bitten.
Verdict: The cost is about 30sgd. I had always like kamboat for its good food, great value and typical HK restaurant settings/ambience. Currently they are having a peking duck promotion at 28bucks. I hope me and demona could come and grab 1 bird and i'll bring a solid 98 Aussie Red to go with it(free corkage if the captain recognize you)
