Bellini Chianti Riserva 1997@60SGD1997 is a superb vintage for Italian wines. The Bellini is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes from the Chianti region. Nose was alluring, with some hoysin (oyster sauce) note, saltish, reduced dark berry with licorice. Elegant complex nose. MMMM. However, on the palate it was lacking in acidity to cut. A mild body with no angular edges. Finish was short. However, after 1hr, the nose was getting more complex and some tannins and acid emerged. Interesting.
