Armand Rousseau Clos Des la Roche 1996
The finale of the night is from the famed Armand Rousseau winery in Burgundy, Armand Rousseau Clos Des la Roche 1996@ 250sgd: Clos de la Roche is the one of the Grand Cru plot of Morey-St-Denis and it suppose to be feminine and classy. I have previously tried a Clos St Denis Grand Cru 1985 and did not really dig the feminine style of wine. However, i believe my palate is more educated now and i find the Clos de la Roche very very enticing. After 30min upon opening up, a big beautifully seductive aromas of forest cherry with some hint of sweet herb welcomed us. Clean elegant nose. On the palate, the wine is extremely elegant and silky. It just trickled down our throat effortlessly. This wine showed a good demonstration of intensity and elegance, where you could taste the elegance of the wine, yet there is no lacking in the intensity and structure on your palate and nose. Superb!
