Pavillon Rouge du Ch Margaux 1998

The Pavillon Rouge du Ch Margaux 1998@180sgd has 2 different tasting notes on the Winespectator.com:
1) Loads of berry, cherry and vanilla character. Full-bodied and very velvety, with big, chewy tannins on the finish. One heck of a second wine. Score range: 90-94

2)Aromas of red licorice, berry and cherry. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fine, silky finish. Slightly hollow center palate. Best after 2005 Score 87

When we opened it, there is a nice clean nose of cherry, licorice. The mouthfeel was slight watered down and hollowed, however, the tannins was superbly silkyyyy. Everybody was screaming elegant wine! silky tannins when we sipped the wine. Not much evolution on the glass but it was a very clean, elegant wine. I would agree more with the 2nd tasting note from Winespectator, however, it definitely deserve more than 87 pointer. Probably a good 90-91 at this age.
To go with the wines, we had some pizza from Spizza. At 18 bucks each, topped with porcini mushroom, and proscuitto ham, bacon and drizzled with olive oil. This pizza sings!
