I could not get much information on this small Burgundy Producer. However, this Bonna Mares carried the most weight compared to the Volnay and Aloxe Corton that we had this evening.Domaine Bart is one of the many producers in Burgundy that is overlooked. It is quite unfortunate as they makes beautiful wines from Marsannay to Bonnes Mares with an emphasis on value and terroir reflection. Martin Bart's grandfather was a Clair of Clair Dau, one of the most revered families in all of Burgundy. In fact, Domaine Bart got their Bonnes Mares and Chambertin Clos de Beze when the Dau domaine was broken up un the early 1980's.
Nose: Big cherry, after aeration turned into sweet tea.
Palate: Elegant but significant intensity. Sappy tannins in the end.
