Fox Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1998:
We had this over dinner in Taiping with mom and daddy. Austrialian wine corks are notoriously fragile especially after >8 years of aging. However, the cork is in a surprisingly good condition when dad managed to pop open it.
The nose was a complex with sweet licorice, tobacco, reduced currant and mushroom note. On the palate, the mid and acid was at its optimum level, balancing out with the fruits without overpowering one another. Harmony.
The wine is most likely at its peak now, do drink up if you have any bottle lying around in your cellar.
